Mona Relief resumes 3 months of intervention to provide clean water in 3 IDPs hosting sites in Sana’a

Mona Relief and during 2020-2021 implemented many interventions in WASH sector and we are almost providing all services in the WASH sector. Through water provision activities we Installed and rehabilitated 15 water tank points, 6 points in Sana’a governorate and 9 points in Amanat al-Simah during 2020 – 2022 and since then we continued providing access to safe water through water tracking to those water points.
Mona Relief also responded many times to appeals from WASH Cluster to cover the gaps in water in IDPs hosing sites in Amran and Sana’a governorates along with Sana’a city IDPs hosting site. During the last three years Mona Relief supplied clean water through water tracking to 426 HHs approximately 3300 individuals in al-Baydaa and Dahadh IDPs hosting sites in Huth and Khamar districts in Amran governorate in June 2021. Moreover, Mona Relief in coordination with the YWC has provided clean water for the IDPs in this site for six months. This intervention was implemented in two phases the first was from January to March 2022 and the second was from the July to September 2022. And the total number of beneficiaries at Dharwan, al-Reqah and al-Sawad IDPs hosting sites in Hamdan district of Sana’a governorate is 3164 people. Also, MR Provided clean water to HHs in al-Kulbeen area of Kharef district, in Amran governorate during March to May 2022.
In Hygiene promotion activities, MR distributed hygiene kits to 464 HHs in in Dharwan, al-Reqah, and al-Sawad IDPs hosting sites in Hamdan district in Sana’a governorate. Hygiene kits was supported by UNICEF and MR covered for operational cost. MR during the distribution process raised awareness and conduct hygiene promotion campaigns in the three sites.
Need assessments survey activities were conducted by Mona Relief on HHs at al-Jamah IDPs hosting site in Arhab district in Sana’a governorate and in Dharwan, al-Reqah, and al-Sawad IDPs hosting sites in Hamdan district in Sana’a governorate.
WASH cluster was informed about the results of the survey in the two sites. And as a result of the survey Mona Relief distributed hygiene kits supported by UNICEF and in Arhab Mona Relief Installed and distributed 48 dual latrines to 96 HHs at al-Jamah IDPs hosting site in Arhab district in Sana’a governorate funded by IOM for latrines and for operational cost as an activity in sanitation services. Also in sanitation services, 20 latrines will be installed in Dhaban, al-Khamis, and al-Malimi IDPs hosting sites in Sana’a city based on a fund by Mona Relief. The intervention will help protect women and girls from harassment and sexual abuse.
The total of budget for our intervention during 2020-2022 is $76,026.
