Objective / Purpose of the Role
Job Description for Project Assistant
Mona Relief seeks qualified and motivated individuals to join our humanitarian team
Responsibilities
- Implement all food security and livelihood activities in a timely manner in the designated areas, in close coordination with the direct line manager.
- Coordinate with the local community to conduct community awareness meetings/workshops about the project’s objectives, activities, and selection criteria at the village level.
- Monitor the implementation of food security and livelihood activities with community committees.
- Coordinate with local communities and targeted authorities at the village level to conduct the beneficiary selection and registration process.
- Collect and maintain lists of all beneficiaries for each project activity, to be entered by the Food Security and Livelihoods Data Management Coordinator.
- Supervise the distribution process, ensuring adherence to Mona Relief’s standards and procedures.
- Participate in regular feedback sessions on all implementation outcomes.
- Submit required reports to your direct supervisor, including detailed and accurate data on all assigned activities, as well as progress, identified challenges, and successes.
- Adhere to working hours, meet deadlines, and comply with any other requests from your direct supervisor.
- Assisting in conducting necessary assessments during the implementation of food basket distribution activities.
- Any other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor.
- Other duties might require internal auditing or requested by line manager.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Relevant academic background (Diploma, Bachelor’s, or higher).
- Experience in humanitarian or development work (preferred).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in teams and under pressure.
- Proficiency in computers and basic applications (Microsoft Office).
- Good command of Arabic (required) and English (preferred depending on role).
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in humanitarian programmes working in the related field.
- Experience working with non-governmental organizations (NGOs/INGO).
- Strong knowledge of Core Humanitarian Standards and humanitarian principles.
- Ability to identify risks and implement effective mitigations within programmes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications with excellent computer literacy and/or applications related to this position
- Excellent communication, data analysis, and report writing abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and interact productively with peers, supervisors, and external counterparts in a multicultural environment.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel to field locations.
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies, donor requirements, and humanitarian standards.
- Upholding Mona Relief’s code of conduct and PSEA zero-tolerance policy.
